MR. MURRAY'S PAGE

Dear Coe Families,

I hope that this message finds you and your family doing as well as possible under our current circumstances. I do understand that things are stressful out there. Staying active on a regular basis can be beneficial, both physically and mentally. This is true for adults and kids, alike. I hope that you all are finding a little bit of time for a walk, jog, bike ride, dance, jump rope or another activity. As Seattle Public School students, it is recommended that in order to meet physical education goals during this time away from school, students should strive to be physically active for at least 60 minutes a day. I have multiple posters in the gym that state “Fuel Up to Play 60!” So, this is not a new idea for our Coe students. Activity time doesn’t need to happen all at once. Just some activity breaks throughout the day can have great benefit. And, the “Fuel” is good healthy eating.

During this time away from school, the Seattle School District highly recommends that students are actively engaged in school activities. We also understand that different families have differing challenges during this time. That said, I am providing links to Health and Fitness videos made available by SPS. If you have time to use these videos as a way to supplement daily activity, please do. If all you can get to is to get outside for a walk or bike ride, that’s great, too.
